This clinic is a level up from your typical "bomb proofing" playday. This clinic can be done from the ground and/or the saddle. You will learn to negotiate sensory items and obstacles while creating better communication with your horse.

Sensory Items Included in the Clinic:

Dancing Tube Man, Water Box, Rocker Bridge, Tarp, Noodle Obstacle, Pull Log, Walk Through Obstacle, Mattress, Car Wash, Firecracker/Gunfire Simulator, Cold Spark, Smoke/Fog, Flares and Various Sensory Items.

Instruction by Susan Dockter. Susan is a Competitor, Trainer, Coach, Judge Clinician and Educator with over 25 years of experience. Susan has been training Police Horses and educating San Francisco PD, Livermore PD, and East Bay Regional Park District Mounted Officers since 2013.

Susan is dedicated to preserving the traditions of the ranch horse while complementing that training with classical principles. Susan is a proven competitor, clinician, coach and judge with over 25 years of experience and travels throughout the United States giving clinics. Susan has had the privilege to study with some of the best horsemen in the world. Chris Cox and Eitan Beth-Halachmy have been her mentors and greatest inspiration.

In 2013, Susan was contacted by the East Bay Mounted Police Department to assist after one of their officers had a serious horse-related accident. Susan's used her extensive experience to prepare the Officers and horses for exposure to various challenging situations such as large crowds, traffic, loud noises, flares, trail obstacles, helicopters, and gunfire. With Susan's guidance, the unit has achieved a perfect safety record. From 2014 to 2018, Susan served as the trainer for the San Francisco Police Mounted Unit, primarily focusing on training in Golden Gate Park and its surrounding areas. In 2018, Susan attended the 40-hour POST certified Mounted Basic Training in Norco. Additionally, she conducts sensory clinics to the public, emphasizing horsemanship and correct riding techniques.
